Gilles Larrain’s

In 1973, Vietnam-born photographer Gilles Larrain collected a series of bottles of Chanel No. 5.  Taken with the Cartesian architectonic structure of the bottle, he began his photographic exploration of the iconic bottle in film and in Polaroid, which he later deconstructed with a variety of methods.  The results, seen here, are quite stunning and present a fresh perspective on the potion that always seems to keep us, major celebrity or not, talking.
